​Heid Schlichter was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the University of New Hampshire where she graduated with a B.A. in Studio Arts. Throughout her studies, Schlichter learned to incorporate different media and practices into her work. She is currently known for using paper quilling with resin to create relief-like artwork.

 Heidi Schlichter currently lives and works in the Orlando area. Amongst her recent awards, Schlichter placed third in the professional category for the Nation Arts Program in Osceola County.
