​Heid Schlichter was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the University of New Hampshire where she graduated with a B.A. in Studio Arts. Throughout her studies, Schlichter learned to incorporate different media and practices into her work. She is currently known for using paper quilling with resin to create relief-like artwork.
 Heidi Schlichter currently lives and works in the Orlando area. Amongst her recent awards, Schlichter placed third in the professional category for the Nation Arts Program in Osceola County.

" As an artist, I am deeply committed to the exploration and celebration of handmade techniques and traditional crafting practices. In an era where generative technologies and digital arts dominate, I find myself drawn to the tactile, intentional process of creating with my hands, allowing the act of making to be as meaningful as the final piece itself.  I am interested in how these techniques can bridge the past with the present offering a counterpoint to the ever-expanding world of automation. By embracing the unique qualities inherent in handmade work, I seek to create art that demonstrates human touch and resonates with the authenticity of the craft."
